Two days in a police station and jury trial for allegedly nicking £8 change from parked cars in Ruislip

For allegedly stealing £8 in change from two cars during lockdown a man faces jury trial.

Antony Chelliah, 31, was arrested on 27 April for stealing £5 and £3 ‘loose change’ from two cars on Pinn Way, Ruislip.

After being held in custody at Polar Park Police Station, Heathrow, for two days he appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court to deny the thefts.

The 31-year-old appeared at court from the police station via video link to a laptop which was brought to his cell by custody officers.

He instructed his solicitor, who was at court, from the police station where he was in custody.

Chelliah, 31, of Roxeth Green Avenue, South Harrow, denied the thefts and was granted bail to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on 27 May.
